Thesis Title: Against All Odds: The Revival of Polish Civil Society

Supervisor: Professor Michael Biggs

I am a DPhil student in Sociology based at Nuffield College. I previously studied Political Analysis at UCL SSEES and European Politics at King’s College London. Professionally, I worked as a research assistant to various academics at KCL. I was also consultant at the OECD’s Open Governance Unit.

My research looks at the relationship between activism and electoral turnout in Poland. The thesis seeks to examine the effects of recent mobilisations, such as the Women’s Strike (pro-accessible abortion movement), or Ukrainian refugee relief efforts on attitudes towards conventional politics.

Research Interests: Civil society, social movements, LGBT politics, elections and voting, political sociology
