Lidia is a PhD candidate in Social Sciences at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Her dissertation, Unveiling the Gap: Exploring the Origins and Dynamics of the Gender Gap in Political Attitudes, examines the origins and life-course dynamics of the gender gap in political behaviour, focusing on why women often report lower political interest and internal efficacy.

Drawing on political socialisation and life-course approaches, she studies how family resources and early environments shape gendered political attitudes.

Previously, Lidia worked as a Research Assistant on the G-EPIC (Gender Empowerment through Politics in Classrooms) Horizon 2020 project, which explores how political education in schools can empower young people, particularly girls, in developing political skills and confidence.

She also gained experience as a Research Assistant on the TwiceAsGood ERC project, investigating the careers of women candidates, and on the GenYstereo project (funded by LaCaixa Flash), which analysed the role of influencers in shaping gender attitudes among Spanish youth.
