Clara Rondani is a PhD Candidate in Criminology at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy, and a researcher at the Transcrime Joint Research Centre.

She holds an MSc in Economics from the same university. Her research interests include governance-oriented organised crime and human trafficking for labour exploitation. Her doctoral project focuses on mafia infiltration in local politics, investigating how interactions between organised crime members and the political establishment shape, and are shaped by, local community dynamics.

She also coordinated a project co-funded by the European Commission that aimed to improve the identification of labour exploitation cases within legitimate companies by analysing corporate data to detect potential anomalies.
