A new 3.5-year DPhil Studentship on British Hacking and Cybercrime is now open for applications, offering an exciting opportunity for prospective doctoral researchers interested in cybercrime and life course criminology.
Supervised by Associate Professor Jonathan Lusthaus, the studentship will focus on life course criminology and British hackers, with particular attention to youth pathways into cybercrime in the UK.
The studentship is open to both home and overseas students. It covers full course fees and provides a stipend for the duration of the award.
Candidates must meet the graduate admissions criteria for the DPhil in Sociology and submit a formal graduate application. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Lusthaus (jonathan.lusthaus@sociology.ox.ac.uk) in the first instance.
The application deadline is noon on 3 March 2026, with the successful candidate due to begin in October 2026.
