The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unparalleled challenges on individuals, families, employers and governments. In this talk, Leah Ruppanner will cover the most recent insights into how the pandemic has impacted American parents and provide some clear policy guidance to mitigate the damage for mothers. Central to these arguments are how states play a critical role in exacerbating the gendered consequences of school and daycare closures on maternal employment.
