Collaboration with Korean Time Use Researchers on Time Use of the Elderly and Elderly Care Providers

Principal Investigator: Kamila Kolpashnikova

Similar to European and North American societies, the population aged 65 and above is rapidly increasing in East Asia, including in South Korea. This project provides a networking opportunity between the University of Oxford and Korean scholars to analyse the time use patterns, the quality of life, and health outcomes among the elderly in Korea. Based on the analysis of the Korean data in the data centres in Seoul, the outcomes of the project will contrast the results in Korea with previous research in other East Asian countries such as Japan, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and western countries such as the UK and the US. Collaborative efforts under this project will result in co-authored papers using the Korean Time Use Survey and the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging data.
