Centre for Time Use Research

The Centre for Time Use Research is a world-leading, multidisciplinary research group based in the Department of Sociology. The team of researchers – which includes sociologists, economists, and demographers – work with Time Use Data to investigate issues in areas including social life, work-life balance, family, gender, and economics.

Extra-Legal Governance Institute

ExLEGI is the Extra-legal Governance Institute, a unit within the University of Oxford's Social Sciences Division. ExLEGI was founded in 2006 by Professor Diego Gambetta, Dr Heather Hamill, and Professor Federico Varese.

The Institute studies the ways in which economic and social activity may be governed by institutions and structures that are outside the state.
