Professor John Ermisch, FBA, has been appointed to a Professorship of Family Demography. Professor Ermisch is an eminent demographer and an expert in longitudinal data analyses. He is currently based at the Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Essex, and will take up his post in the Department of Sociology from December 2011.
