Pavan Mamidi's Workshop on Cross-Border Negotiations--involving students in the USA, India, and Pakistan--features in the Hindu, 18 April 2011:
Students at the Institute of Financial Management and Research in Chennai negotiated a business merger with students at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) Law School in the U.S. Sitting across the globe and talking over Skype for about 90 minutes, they all struck mutually beneficial deals. Another group of students negotiated a similar case with students at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. Pavan Mamidi taught students in India and Pakistan how to approach the negotiations while sitting in Michigan, again using Skype.
Pavan is also using the workshop to gather experimental data on trust and bargaining, for his postdoctoral research.
