Aaron Reeves' research is focused on social inequality. He is a sociologist with interests in public health, culture, and political economy. His work involves examining the causes and consequences of social, economic, and cultural inequity in Europe and North America.
Current projects include: 1. using natural experiments to examine the influence of poverty reduction policies on health and health inequalities (EU-funded grant - DEMETRIQ), 2. examining the influence of the Great Recession and austerity policies on health inequalities in Europe and North America, 3. tracing the economic, social, and political factors shaping attitudes toward the welfare state in the UK, and 4. documenting the association between social inequality and the cultural politics of class.
He is a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Sociology, and a research fellow with Nuffield college, at the University of Oxford.
Prior to his time at Oxford he worked briefly at the University of Cambridge and completed his PhD in Applied Social & Economic Research with the Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Essex.
